Did you know that God’s plan for you is that you’d become more like Jesus? The Apostle Paul wrote:

“For God knew his people in advance, and he chose them to become like his Son…”  (Rom. 8:29 NLT)

If God’s plan for you and I is that we’d be more like Jesus, conformed to his image, it would seem helpful for us to consider just how God works in our lives for that to happen! I mean, have you ever stopped to consider just how the Holy Spirit is at work as he transforms you into the person that God made you to be?

In several places of the Bible, the Holy Spirit is likened to “wind” (John 3:8). Throughout the history of the Church, followers of Jesus have often prayed for the Spirit to “blow” on God’s people so they would become more like Jesus and would reflect the love of God to the world around them. In the Vineyard, our favorite prayer is “Come Holy Spirit.” If the wind is blowing, we want to turn and face that wind!

Beginning on June 12, the Red Bluff Vineyard is going to spend three weeks in a sermon series called Face the Wind. We’ll explore how the Holy Spirit works in order to help us become more like Jesus, especially in relation to Scripture, prayer, and serving others. Through these activities (and many more!), the Holy Spirit helps tune our head, heart, and hands to be ambassadors for God’s kingdom.

So join us on Sunday mornings at 10:30am and invite your friends and family!
