The Carr Fire in Redding has continued to spread and there are many people being evacuated or who have lost their homes. I’ve been in contact with a number of people in our church who are connected to local organizations to find out how we can help and we have our eyes and ears open.

We are going to be proactive and begin collecting a number of things:

  • Canned goods.
  • Water.
  • Snacks.
  • Diapers & wipes.

Bring your items this Sunday or call 530-527-2449 to organize a drop of now! Andrea Martin is going to be coordinating the distribution alongside some of her community connections. Andrea has some great advice:

“Start with what you have. Do what you can. Be the chance you want to see. Thank you!”

Please, please, please be praying! We need rain, no wind, and lots of safety for our friends and family who are busy fighting the fires or helping people in Redding.

This Sunday we’re going to spend time during our service to pray for the situation. And if you could, please pray for our very own Corey Wolter. Corey is a good friend and currently in Redding with Cal Fire. We love him dearly and want God’s protection for him and all of his sisters and brothers fighting this fire! And pray for all of the families of the first responders. This is a very scary time for them as well.

We’ve also connected with the Redding Vineyard and are waiting to hear of other ways we can help. Stay tuned and start praying and collect that stuff!
